Biography
I live in the Los Angeles area and had a rewarding career in healthcare public policy. My last position was as a Fortune 50 company executive. But, life is fleeting, and there is so much to see and do. So now, I am retired and a photographer.
How did I make the transition? Slowly. I had always had a camera and loved photography, but I was just too busy with my career to engage seriously. Then life happened.
In 2004, our company was purchased and a year later, it was time to leave. I considered taking another position but decided to slow down and explore those other interests that had long been neglected.
With camera in hand, I was off to Europe. My images weren’t bad, but I knew that I could do better. I purchased a more versatile camera, and the adventures began. Now, well into the journey, I know several things. First, I am finding a voice in areas I had never expected. Second, while equipment is an invaluable tool for expressing ones-self more expansively, they are tools not endpoints. And finally, there is so much more to explore!
Travel photography is important to me. I travel and shoot alone or with friends, but I really like domestic and international photo tours. I try to do several each year. They are a great way to see the world while improving my photographic skills.
Finally, my website lets you see my progress. I’d like to believe that my images are becoming more interesting, but that’s for you to decide.
I hope you enjoy my work.
