Galta Ji Temple
Galta ji is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site about 12 miles from Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan. Galtaji is famous for its natural water springs and sits within a beautiful landscape and features temples, pavilions, natural springs and holy 'kunds' or pools. The Temple has seven pools, holiest being the Galta Kund, which never goes dry. It is considered auspicious to take a bath in the holy waters of Galtaji. Ubiquitous among the temples feral Rhesus monkeys who are considered holy by the pilgrims and are fed by them.
Nizamuddin Dargah (Sufi) Mosque
Nizamuddin Dargah is the dargah (mausoleum) of the Sufi saint Khwaja Nizamuddin Auliya (1238–1325 CE). Situated in the Nizamuddin West area of Delhi, the dargah is visited by thousands of pilgrims every week. The site is also known for its evening qawwali devotional music sessions. The descendants of Nizamuddin Auliya look after the whole management of dargah Sharif.
We were at the Nizamuddin Dargah for evening prayers. To us outsiders, it was a mob scene. To them, it was normal evening!
Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib (Sikh) Temple
Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib is one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship, in Delhi - first built in 1783. The Sarovar Pond inside its complex is considered holy.
We arrived at sunrise and were invited to photograph the grounds, structures and morning services. Also, we were invited into their kitchen where they were cooking food for the poor. The people at the temple could not be more generous.
